As someone with very dry skin, I am always on the lookout for products that add moisture to my skin and keep it there. As someone with very dry skin, I am always on the lookout for products that add moisture to my skin and keep it there. The winter, of course, exacerbates my dryness, so my winter go-tos have to pack a serious hydration punch. I've listed some of my favorite hydrators here, but would love to hear about your favorite hydrators too.
1. Hale & Hush Hush Hydrate
Affectionately referred to my children as blue goo, I always have a tub of Hush Hydrate on hand. While it can be used as a mask, it can also be used as an everyday moisturizer or overnight hydration treatment. The gel not only delivers hydration to the skin thanks to squalane and aloe. I find it helpful if I have irritated winter skin too, as it contains neem, turmeric and the aforementioned aloe. It also fights off oxidation thanks to giant knotweed. https://haleandhush.com
2. Stonecrop Hydrating Mist, Eminence
If you haven't yet had the pleasure of experiencing a product with stonecrop, you'll be amazed by not only its ability to hydrate and heal, but also its fantastic scent. Why it smells so good, I have no idea, but I am on board. This toner is hydrating and healing for all skin types, specifically for uneven skin. Lavender calms irritated skin and jasmine supplies skin with carotenoids as well as vitamins C and P. https://eminenceorganics.com
3. Maximum Moisture, DMK
When it comes to moisture, we can't forget about the body. If I don't moisturize my legs daily, my shins start looking like something out of a sci-fi movie. Maximum Moisture fits the bill, as a moisturizer that taps jojoba to mimic oils in the body to allow it easy absorbtion and fast hydration. It is recommended for dry skin and as an added bonus, can be used with Hydra Louffa to extend fake tans. https://dmkskincare.ca
4. Aquaporin Hydrating Cream, Circadia
I tried Aquaporin many moons ago and have been hooked ever since. True to Circadia style, this cream utilizes high-tech hydration technology. It is formulated with acetyl hexapeptide-37, which boosts aquaporin-3 (hence the name) to improve inner hydration and water movement as well as improving barrier function and collagen synthesis. It also moisturizes with natural oils such as avocado, olive and macadamia. https://circadia.com
